Lauren Hunter
Lauren graduated in 2004 from Sheffield Hallam University with an Upper Second Class Honours degree in Physiotherapy. Her research article into low back pain was published in a physiotherapy journal in 2006. Since qualifying, she has worked within the Bradford Hospitals NHS Trust, across a wide and varied area of musculoskeletal physiotherapy. Lauren joined our team in February 2010.
Post-graduate courses have included manual therapy, integral anatomy and communication skills. Lauren has a special interest in the treatment of shoulder problems, and is one of our dedicated ante/post-natal therapists, dealing with musculoskeletal problems arising from pregnancy and labour.
She is also a qualified Bowen Therapist, gaining her qualification from the European College of Bowen Studies (ECBS) in 2008. She effectively combines traditional physiotherapeutic techniques with Bowen techniques to enhance her management of soft tissue problems.
For the past ten years, Lauren has also trained doctors in communication skills at Leeds University and the Yorkshire Deanery.
Outside of work, Lauren enjoys the gym and pilates, and twice won the County School 100m Sprint Championships (back in the day!).
