Kay Ganguly MCSP, SRP

Kay graduated from R.G University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, India in 2001 with a First Class Honours degree in Physiotherapy, and was the top of her graduating class. Subsequently, she went on to complete her Post-Graduate Diploma in Rehabilitation in 2003 from All India Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and graduated again with First Class. Kay joined our team as specialist paediatric therapist in April 2011 and provides a mobile service operating from all 4 clinic locations and/or from the child’s home or school, if this is considered more appropriate.

She has worked in different clinical settings, including the community and within schools, specialising in children’s physiotherapy, both in the UK and abroad. She has worked within various NHS Trusts specialising in paediatric neuro-developmental therapy, Bobath Therapy, sensory integration, co-ordination difficulties, congenital conditions, rehabilitation following head injury and orthopaedic/musculoskeletal injuries/conditions.

More recently, whilst working with the York Hospitals NHS Trust, she worked on early years’ assessment and intervention for children with low birth weight, developed management pathways for children with developmental/co-ordination difficulties, and post-botox rehabilitation for children with cerebral palsy. Kay currently also works part-time with Sheffield Children's Hospital as a Specialist Physiotherapy Practitioner for paediatric orthopaedic conditions, spinal surgery and limb reconstruction.

She has completed various post-graduate courses including cognitive behavioural therapy, a paediatric “get on the ball” course, postural management and the use of specialist equipment for children. Having spent more than 8 years working with children with complex emotional and physical needs, she has developed both professionally and personally.

Outside of work, Kay enjoys swimming, music and spending quality time with her family.
