Cathy Preston

Cathy Preston, MCSP, SRP

Cathy graduated from Birmingham University in 1997 with an Upper Second Class Honours degree in Physiotherapy.

Since graduating, she has worked in a variety of clinical settings, both within the NHS and private sector, specialising in musculoskeletal injuries with a special interest in lower limb disorders. Whilst working at Leeds General Infirmary, Cathy ran the physiotherapy rehabilitation gym service, worked alongside two specialist knee surgeons, and was fundamental in establishing the current A&E Acute Knee Service.

Cathy now leads the physiotherapy team at the Headrow Walk-In Centre, Leeds City Centre. Post-graduate courses have included acupuncture, manual therapy, muscle imbalance/kinetic control and McKenzie techniques, ensuring up-to-date, evidence-based practice.

Cathy is also qualified to provide ante/post-natal services, dealing with musculoskeletal problems arising from pregnancy and labour. Registered with ACPOHE, Cathy provides an on-site ergonomic and occupational health service for local businesses, which have included Equifax, United Utilities, Zolv.com and Montpelier (Leeds) Ltd Accountants.

In her spare time, Cathy enjoys running, gardening and baking cakes (though not all at the same time!). She loves the Lake District where she escapes as often as she can. She is working her way through the many peaks (despite her fear of heights!).
