Cathy Preston graduated from Birmingham University in 1997 with an Upper Second Class Honours degree in
Physiotherapy. Over the past eight years, she has worked in a variety of clinical settings, both within
the NHS and the private sector, specialising in musculoskeletal injuries with a special interest in lower limb
disorders. Whilst working at Leeds General Infirmary, she ran the physiotherapy rehabilitation gym service,
worked alongside two specialist knee surgeons, and was fundamental in establishing the current A&E Acute Knee
Service.
Post-graduate courses have included acupuncture, manual therapy, muscle imbalance/ kinetic control and McKenzie
techniques, and she is commencing an MSc in Manual Therapy in September 2006.
Cathy is a keen (and injury-prone!) runner who competes with Pudsey Pacers Running Club. Through her sport,
she has developed a particular interest in running-related injuries.
Sarah Joice graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University in 1998 with a First Class Honours degree in Physiotherapy.
Since qualifying, she has worked within the NHS at Leeds General Infirmary, specialising in musculoskeletal disorders.
She has also undertaken numerous post-graduate courses, including acupuncture, manual therapy, muscle imbalance/kinetic control,
and McKenzie techniques in order to maintain a high standard of clinical skills.
In addition to her NHS work, Sarah has worked privately, developing a physiotherapy service for student dancers within the Yorkshire
region. Twenty-five years of practical dance experience (to RAD Solo Seal standard) has enabled her to combine her love of dance
with her physiotherapy career. She treats all manner of dance-related conditions and also provides a screening service for
musculoskeletal disorders at dance auditions (Yorkshire Ballet Scholarship Centre in York, and Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds).
Cathy and Sarah became joint Clinical Directors of PEAK Physiotherapy in November 2005. We look forward to meeting and treating you!!
